Using Adobe Acrobat and Reader to Enlarge Prints

Have you ever wanted to print something off your companies website like a pay-stub or something and it would just come out to small? Follow these instructions below to get larger prints.

  1. When selecting the document choose print to Adobe Pdf. It will then prompt you to save the file. Either use the given name or select one yourself that makes sense.
  2. After it is finished Adobe Acrobat Reader will now open. Make sure the basic toolbar is visible by right clicking on a blank area of the toolbar, and placing a check mark next to Basic if it is not already enabled. If you have Adobe 6 or later it will already be visible.
  3. Find the “Snapshot Tool” on the Basic toolbar and select it. It’s usually found by selecting the tools tab then selecting the select & zoom option. From there you should see the snapshot tool with no problem.
  4. Drag a box around the area you want to print. A message will alert you that the selection has been copied to the clipboard. Click OK and you will see a dashed line or a blue square around the area you just selected.
  5. Click Print.
  6. In the print dialog, set the print range to “Selected graphic.”
  7. If you want to print the selection at its intended size, set Page Scaling to “None.”
  8. If you want the selection to fill the paper, set the page scaling to “Fit to paper.” You may need to check the “Auto-Rotate and Center” check box to maximize paper usage.
  9. When you are satisfied with the preview, click OK to print the document.
