SEO Company Scams and Misleadings

I am going to show you on this page what to watch out for when you are contacted by a company who says they can design or redesign your web page to reach number one in Google.  I will give you an example of examples they will use and why they are pointless.

Let me show you some examples of our clients websites using our custom search engine optimization techniques and how they are ranking on the first page in Google under certain important keywords:

I, in my ignorant days, fell for this one. I paid $3,500 for this very devious, yet ingenious in its simplicity, preying on the innocent (or stupid) like me ( ”OUCH“).  Of course they’re going to have websites on the front page of Google. You have people pay you $3500 per site and you build thousands of them (these are only lead in websites that redirect them to your main website, remember they are not custom built websites, that anybody can build in a couple of hours) of course you are going to have one or two appear in the top five of Google. So when you make your sales call which websites are you going to show them? The two or three that are ranked number and not the other thousand, I mean thousands that are nowhere to be found. Trust me, they’ll make excuses that the keywords you want them to target are no good and the ones they choose are better. As you can see this is a very simple, yet very effective technique. If you were to go to Google’s Keywords Page and look up the keywords they were using as examples you would see that nobody is actually using those keywords. Yep, that is $3500 I wish I had back.

Here is an example on one of my sites. I am an Amsoil Dealer. According to the Google Keywords Page where to buy is a relevantly popular search term. I am an Amsoil Dealer so I’ll extend that a little further by using the keyword phrase “Where to Buy Amsoil“. If you put that search term in the search bar my website www.motoroilinfo.comwill appear on the front page in Yahoo, MSN, and Ask.com but not Google. So as a salesmen I would say to you, let’s go to Yahoo and put in the keyword “where to buy Amsoil”, see how my clients page appears in the top five under that search term? How could you possible not invest $3500 in my company and get your website to the front page of the major search engines using my “search engine optimization” techniques? Then I’ll go on and show y0u a couple of more similar scenarios.

If I build enough websites I’ll be lucky enough to have a few appear on the front pages of the search engines.

We will redesign your page and include importantmeta tags“:

The truth is, is that the keyword meta tag is no longer relevant, or at least not to the four major search engines. They don’t use this meta tag anymore do to its misleading nature. The search engines find their own relevant keywords scanning your content. Maybe some third ranking search engines will still use these. Plus all website building software will include these automatically when you are building your website. The best one out there for beginners is XSitePro. This software program takes care of everything about building an SEO website as is humanly possible.

The final sales gimmick I will share with you is simple: Let our 30 years of experience help you out:

Thirty years of what? The search engines are constantly changing their criteria but they’re settling on one point. Don’t use any misleading keywords. If your site is about growing flowers don’t put the keyword car parts in the title. In another article on this blog I will go into that in more detail.

My point is, don’t pay for anything you can easily do yourself.
